The Love of God

GodisLove_slide1x_365_y_273Many at times I ask myself, how can the just die for the unjust? Is it possible for this to happen? What does it take to be loved? Do we love at all? Of what essence will it be, to love one another? Why the Bible does tell us to love even our enemies? How well do we understand the word “Love”? Why do we live our life based on hatred?

As the Scriptures says “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous” (Read Matthew 5:44-45) We are all not worthy of God’s Love. We fall short when it comes to the reciprocation of the love God showed us when He sent His only Begotten Son to descend and die on our behalf.

THE LIFE OF OUR SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST

Long time ago in a land called Bethlehem was a story on how a great and wonderful child was born into this world. His Parents were Mary and Joseph. His mother Mary was engaged to Joseph, but before they were married, she found out that she was going to have a baby by the Holy Spirit. Joseph on the other hand was a man who always did what was right, but he did not want to disgrace Mary publicly; so he made plans to break the engagement privately. While he was thinking about this, an Angel of the Lord appeared to him and said, “Joseph, descendant of David, do not afraid to take Mary to be your wife. For it is by the Holy Spirit that she has conceived. She will have a Son and, you will name Him Jesus, because He will save His people from their sin. And indeed Jesus Christ our savior came to demonstrate the true definition of Love to mankind. He set us free from our miseries, our worries and every circumstances we find ourselves in.

                             His Teachings

1: Teaching about the Law

(Matthew 5:17-20)

Here Jesus Christ instructed or warned the people not to disobey the Laws or Commandment given to them by Moses. This is what He said and I quote “Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the Prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true. Remember that as long as Heaven and Earth last, not the least point nor the smallest detail of the Law will be done away with- not until the end of all things. So then whoever disobeys even the least important commandment and teaches others to do the same, will be least in the Kingdom of Heaven On the other hand whoever obeys the Law and teaches others to do the same, will be great in the Kingdom of Heaven. I tell you, then, that you will be able to enter the Kingdom of Heaven only if you are more faithful than the teachers of the Law and the Pharisees in doing what God requires. In this teaching, Jesus Christ teaches us to be obedient in all our ways; to the Laws. And also by abiding and conforming to the rule s and regulations the Bible teaches us. We have to accord due respect to whom it is due. Never reject or forsake the Laws of Moses. Jesus Christ, Himself, made it vivid to us that, He did not come into this world to do away with the Laws but to make it come true. So as child of God or as Christians, we ought to live the life that Christ Jesus lived. A respectful and honest lives to impress our maker in Heaven.

2: Teaching about Adultery

(Matthew 5:27-30)

You have heard that it was said, “Do not commit Adultery”. But now I tell you: anyone who looks at a woman and wants to possess her is guilty of committing adultery with her in his heart. So if your right eye causes you to sin, take it out and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose a part of your body than to have your whole body thrown into hell. If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away! It is much better for you to lose one of your limbs than for your whole body to go to hell.

3: Teaching about Divorce

(Matthew 5:31-31)

It was also said, ‘Anyone who divorces must give her a written notice of divorce.’ But now I tell you, if a man divorces his wife, for any cause other than her unfaithfulness, then he is guilty of making her commit adultery if she marries again; and the man who marries her commits adultery also. This is what Christ says and also everyone, whether man or woman needs to understand that divorce is the last step to destruction and adultery. Any man who lives her wife to marry another woman leads her wife into committing adultery with any man that comes her way. She tends to develop hatred and bitterness towards every man. So my fellow men, this is message to you “Love your Wife as yourself.

Be ready to chase God with Her.

Devote your marriage to Christ Jesus

Involve the Holy Spirit in every decision you make in the family.

And most above all, Love her like the way, God loved us.

4: Teaching about Vows

(Matthew 5:33-37)

Christ Jesus in one of His meetings with the people, spoke about the act of breaking promises. So I ask why, do we make empty promises if we know deep down our hearts that, we can’t or not be ready to fulfill the promise. Some people tend to swear by heaven even when they are the ones at fault. Jesus’ message to the people:

You have also heard that people were told in the past,

‘Do not break your promise, but do what you have vowed to the Lord to do.

‘But now I tell you: do not use any vow when you make a promise.

Do not swear by heaven, for it is God throne; nor by earth, for it is the

Resting place for His feet; nor by Jerusalem, for it is the city of a great king.

Do not even swear by your head, because you cannot not make a single hair

White or black. Just say yes or no. Anything else you say comes from the evil

                                      One.

5: Love for Enemies

(Matthew 5:43-48)

You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your friends, hate your enemies, ‘but now I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, So that you may become the children of your father in heaven. For he makes His sun to shine on bad and good people alike, and gives rain to those who do good and to those who do evil. Why should God reward if you love only the people who love you? Even the tax collectors do that! And if you speak to only your friends, have you done anything out of the ordinary? Even the Pagans do that! You must be perfect; Just as your father in heaven is perfect.

In this teaching, Christ taught the people about love. He urged mankind to love thy neighbour as thyself. So why has the world we live, turned upside down because of hatred? Even God in His own infinite wisdom, expressed and demonstrated the true definition of Love. His Love for us is Pure, Real, unconditional, and without measure. That is why, He sent his only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to die on our behalf, to cleanse us from our sins and iniquities. Fellow Christians, I urge you to let go of any past hurt, bitterness disappointment, and problems caused by the people around us and let love take the lead. Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud; love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs; love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth. Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fails. Love is Eternal.

6:  Teaching about Prayer

      (Matthew 6:5-15)

When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites! They love to stand up and pray in the houses of worship and one the street corners, so that everyone will see them. I assure you, they have already been paid in full. But when you pray, go to your room, close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen. And your father, who sees what you do in private, will reward you. When you pray do not use a lot of meaningless words; as the pagans do, who think their gods will hear them because their prayers are long. Do not be like them. Your father knows what you need before you ask Him. This, then, is how you should pray:

                            ‘Our father in Heaven:

                             May your holy name be honored;

                            May your kingdom come

May your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thy, is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen

For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your father in Heaven will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

7: Teaching about Fasting

(Matthew 6:16-18)

And when you fast, do not put on a sad face as the hypocrites do. They neglect their appearance so that everyone will see that they are fasting. I assure you, they have been paid in full. When you go without food, wash your face and comb your hair, So that others will not know that you are fasting; only your Father, who is unseen, will know. And who sees what you do in private, will reward you. Amen

        His Healing

1: Jesus heals the sick in Gennesaret

    (Matthew 14:34-36)

They crossed the lake and came to the land at Gennesaret, where the people recognized Jesus. So they sent for the sick people in all the surrounding country and brought them to Jesus. They begged him to let those who were ill at least touch the edge of his cloak; and all who touched it were made well.

2: Jesus Heals Many People

      (Matthew 15:29-31)

Jesus left there and went along by Lake Galilee. He climbed a hill and sat down. Large crowds came to him, bringing with them, the lame, the blind, the crippled, the dumb, and many other sick people, whom they placed at Jesus’ feet and he healed them. The people were amazed as they saw the dumb speaking, the crippled made whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they praised the God of Israel.  This right here makes it clear to us that, there is nothing Christ Jesus can’t do in our lives. He is able to do, exceedingly, abundantly and beyond what we could ever imagine. Let us put our trust in Him and He will never let us down. He is our healer.

3: Jesus Heals Two Blind Men

       (Matthew 20:29-34)

As Jesus and His disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd was following. Two blind men who were sitting by the road heard that Jesus was passing by, so they began to shout, “Son of David! Take pity on us, sir!” The crowd scolded them and told them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly, “Son of David! Take pity on us, sir!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” He asked them. “Sir,” they answered “we want you to gives us our sight!” Jesus had pity on them and touched their eyes; at once they were able to see, and they followed Him.

4: Jesus Heals A Boy With A Demon

        (Matthew 17:14-20)

When they returned to the crowd, a man came to Jesus, knelt before him, and said, “Sir, have mercy on my son! He is and epileptic and has such terrible fits that he often falls in the fire or into water. I brought him to your disciples, but they couldn’t heal him” Jesus answered, “How unbelieving and wrong you people are! How long must I stay with you? Bring the boy here to me!”  Jesus gave a command to the demon and it went out of the boy, and at that very moment He was healed. Then the disciples came to Jesus in private and asked Him, “Why couldn’t we drive the demon out?” It was because you haven’t enough faith, “answered Jesus. “I assure you that if you have faith as big as a mustard seed, you can say to this hill, ‘Go from here to there!’ and it will go. You could do anything. This passage teaches every believer to develop the act of faith. “For we walk be faith, not by sight, 2Corinthians 5:7” And Also “Faith without works is dead; James 2:17”. So my fellow Christians, have faith in Christ Jesus, be strong, stand firm and you will experience the goodness of God prevail in your life.

    His Death

Way back those days, crucifixion was the most shameful punishment to be given to any criminal who was caught in any bad act. This punishment wasn’t meant for people who do good or without sin, but because of the hatred the people developed for him, He was killed. The only crime He committed was showing love, and yet they treated him with so much contempt. He was Condemned, Made mockery of, Spitted on and killed, all because of our sins: something we were meant to suffer for. He paid it all. He paid the price, He took away every situation, difficulties, depression, sicknesses, and our retrogression. And on the third day, He rose again from the death and ascended into Heaven. So now we free to rejoice and sing praises unto His name. And also, you can enjoy all the benefits of His Death and Resurrection if, we devote our entire life to Him. We are the reason for His death. He came to save us, cleanse us, give us good life in abundance. So why don’t you repent of your sins and come to Him. He is ever ready with a widely opened hand to receive anyone who repents from sin and runs back to him. He is our first love. His love for us knows no bound. He loves us so much, so why can’t we also reciprocate the love, He showed us? Brethren God loves so much. “We love because God first loved us. If we say we love God, but hate our brothers and sisters, we are liars, for people cannot love God, whom we have not seen, if they do not love their brothers and sisters, whom they have seen. The Command that Christ Jesus has given us is this: all who love God, must love their brothers and sisters also. Let love lead!
